Picked up a new Tisas 1911A1 "SERVICE" pistol on Wednesday. Side to frame fit tight as a drum and no movement of the barrel hood when pressed down hard. Trigger measured 4 1/2 pounds average for 5 pulls. Cleaned and lubed it. Took it to the range Thursday and fired 26 rounds of HP and RN bullets. No issues. Accuracy at 24 yards is good. Total cost after shipping, tax and transfer fee was $380.

Yesterday I installed a 9mm ejector on the frame, a Colt MK IV series 80 9mm slide without the FP block and a Colt 38 Super barrel. It has a fully adjustable Bo-Mar rear sight so my next trip to the range will be to sight it in.

Post some pics of that when you can. That sounds like it’s going to be a nice 1911.

Give me a little time and I will. Since my post above, I've made further changes. On the Tisas Service model frame with the 9mm ejector, I've put a 9mm Tisas optics ready slide with an OSight SE red dot and Bar-Sto 30 Luger barrel. The Colt 38 Super barrel and MK IV slide have been put on a 1927 Argentine frame that was fit with a 9mm ejector many years ago. Why? Because the Colt 38 Super barrel and Colt slide were originally fit to the Argentine frame. Keeping them together seemed to be the right thing to do. There's more to be explained which I will do when I post the pictures.

That .30 sounds fun. I sort of did the same with my Tank Commander, only I went with a .38 Super barrel and the optics-ready slide. It's a fun pistol to fool around with.

I shoot my Tisas US ARMY model 1911a1 in 45acp every week .Zero Problems 1000+ rounds through the pistol, just love shooting it . I have 2 Colts and would put up my Tisas quality better then my Colts ,slide to frame is flawless sorry to say better then the Colts.
