Sooo.............I send a brand spanking new Colt Series 70 off to the good folks at YB custom after a few phone calls.

Change a few things while they have the pistol, 'no problem' I'm told. I'm told it could be around 90-120 days for the pistol to be back in my hands.

Long story short; it shows up early, price exactly as agreed, beautiful work all over (1* Elite package plus a few 'add-ons'). Has one of the best, if not the best trigger for a carry gun I've ever seen (35+ years of fooling with 1911's), shoots excellent groups, very cool YB custom sight set-up, and overall exactly what I hoped to get, plus that little something 'extra' that only guys who know what they are doing can put into a pistol.

They will be getting a lot more business from me in the future, as it seems they can do what some 'higher profile' 1911 magicians cannot.......deliver what they say, when they say, for an agreed upon price.

If you're thinking of having some work done on a 1911, give them a try. No, I don't work for them, and they didn't pay me to say this!:)

Hey Shooter,

Do you have any pics of your prized 1911? I would love to see them. Great to hear that Yost Bonitz puts out a quality product and does it with integrity. There have been a couple big time gunsmiths that I have sent guns to for work and the time for delivery promised was not close to what they told me. One gun was supposed to be gone for 3 months and I got it back a year and 1/2 later and that was after a few phone calls. I loved the work but the lack of integrity really bothered me so I no longer use their services.

Congratulations.
I have two guns they've worked- a 1911 and a HiPower- and it's hard to explain them to people. I can list the work done, but that doesn't capture it. You have to see and feel all the little details.
Parts changers they aren't.
